The Hero

RAHEAM ANDERSON

Raheam is the son of a rich man and of a dangerous mother. He is the centre piece of a dysfunctional family and the man who sets Nubian free. I wanted to create a hero who was the kind of man every man wanted to be, well not all men but some. Raheam Anderson isn't your typical hero, in fact he has more secrets than the readers may anticipate and is a no nonsense kind of guy.
-
Unlike Nubian, I had to search for Raheam in guys that I had already met. It was difficult because obviously I didn't want to create an already done hero. I wanted Raheam to be the kind of character that aroused a different type of intrigue. Throughout the novel I want readers to be constantly second guessing him, or trying to figure out his next move.
-
From the outset it is clear that Raheam is frequently talked about, he is mysterious and causes a lot of commotion without doing much. Through this Raheam becomes of interest right through to the end of the novel because his many secrets are never ending.
-
His relationship with Nubian is powerful despite the fact that it takes a long while until they are actually an item. During this build up he is able to free Nubian's inner elements. Raheam like Nubian is going through intense emotional struggle. There is a secret that he shares with his mother, and there are other more frustrating issues that arise when he gets a shocking visit from his past. What makes things worse however are his ever growing feeling for Nubian, and a mother who keeps getting in the way.
-
There are aspects of Raheam that some readers may find compelling. His love for his younger sister and his love for water and the sea are just a couple of things that bring out the serenity within him.
-
As a young man Raheam is up front, ambitious, and incredibly attractive. When thinking about aspects of his personality I wanted to incorporate some characteristics that I find appealing in a young man. E.g a level of shyness, intelligence, humour and a little territorial, meaning a great need to protect and defend what he loves.

  1. Let me know where I can buy the book when it's published. Sounds interesting!

Please come visit my blog, which is based on the book I'm finishing up about a married woman whose cheating husband makes her feel suicidal. Instead of killing herself, she has an affair with a married hip hop artist. I hope you like it and decide to follow.
